Your notch, turned into a prompt lab

Notch Hub lives in your MacBook's notch. Iterate on prompts as local Markdown notes, and watch your AI coding sessions — Claude Code, Trae, Codex — in real time.

Two tools, one notch

Stop juggling windows. Prompt iteration and session monitoring, both a hover away.

✍︎

Prompt iteration notes

Every note is one iteration of a prompt, stored as a plain Markdown file on disk.

  • Carry-forward: seed the next note with today's prompt in one click
  • AI optimize: send to your LLM, get an optimized version + acceptance checklist
  • Regenerate: failed items + actual/expected feed the next round
  • Projects as folders; notes chain chronologically by filename

Vibe-coding session monitor

See what your AI coding agent is doing, the instant it happens.

  • Real-time status of Claude Code, Trae, Codex, Cursor & more
  • Processing, waiting-for-permission, idle — visible at the notch
  • Approve or deny tool permissions right from the notch
  • Hooks + Unix socket IPC; tmux & multi-window aware

API keys live only in macOS Keychain — never in files.

🫥

Menu-bar agent

Runs quietly. No Dock icon, no clutter — just the notch.

System requirements: macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later · Apple Silicon & Intel. Best on notched Macs; notch-less Macs get a centered top-bar entry instead.

FAQ

Where is my data stored?

Plain Markdown files in a folder you choose. Your folder, your rules. No cloud sync, no lock-in.

Which AI tools can it monitor?

Claude Code, Trae, Codex CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, and GitHub Copilot — anything with a hook system.

Does it need the internet?

Only the AI-optimize feature does, using your own LLM API key (any OpenAI-compatible endpoint). Notes and monitoring work fully offline.

Is it safe to install?

Yes — Apple-notarized and signed with a Developer ID. API keys are stored only in Keychain.

Is it on the App Store?

No. Notch Hub is distributed by direct download to bypass App Review and sandbox limits.
